Zoë is a Melbourne-based multidisciplinary artist and designer working across set and costume for theatre and live performance. With a Bachelor of Production Design from VCA and a Cert IV in Textile Design from RMIT, her designs have a unique rhythm, known for blending clean lines, bold colours and unexpected juxtapositions. Outside of her creative practice, Zoë finds joy in nurturing plants and delights in thrifting, being drawn to nature and the thrill of discovery.
Zoë has had the privilege of collaborating with a diverse range of theatre makers and companies. A few of her recent design credits include Set and Costume Designer of Retrograde directed by Bert LaBonté and Never Have I Ever directed by Tasnim Hossain for Melbourne Theatre Company. Set and Costume Designer on Back to Te Maunga, directed by Keegan Bragg for Antipodes Theatre Company at La Mama. Set and Costume Designer for WHO NO KNO GO KNO by Kudakwashe, directed by Effie Nkrumah as part of the Malthouse Theatre Suitcase Series. Costume Designer and Assistant Set Designer on Straight from the Strait, directed by Nadine MacDonald-Dowd for Opera Queensland at QPAC. Set and Costume Designer of the premier of The Hate Race by Maxine Beneba Clarke, directed Courtney Stewart and Tariro Mavondo at Malthouse Theatre. Set and Costume Designer for Scar Trees with Ilbijerri Theatre, directed by Amy Sole and Costume Designer for Hour of the Wolf and The Return directed by Matthew Lutton at Malthouse Theatre.
In the coming months she will be working on projects with Na Djinang Circus for Kindred People Festival and Ilbijerri Theatre as part of their social impact program.
